Recording artist, singer-songwriter Annie Hecht's CD "FLY BUTTERFLY" is a vibrant combination of ballads and pop music. The CD is produced by Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer David Grow,  co-written with David Grow and Stuart Hecht. Annie has combined her unique vocal stylings with some of the finest musicians to create "FLY BUTTERFLY". "DREAM" is written by renowned Jim Brickman & Victoria Shaw.

Her first solo CD, "Sweet Destiny", is co-written with composer-keyboardist Stuart Hecht, produced by Grammy winner, jazz & classical producer Greg Squires, and also features "My Number One" produced & co-written with David Grow.

Since their first live performances in NYC, Annie & Stuart have been touching audiences with their evocative, soft-tinged pop music...

Annie's songs build with passion and intensity as her voice rises to stratospheric levels, revealing her tremendous musicianship and operatic training. Media Story, CW--USA

"I have no time to waste so I've got to catch as many sunfish as I can." It's very exciting to pull them up. It's a thrill." Brandon won the trophy for 'The Most Fish Caught'. Congratulations! 12/30
Holiday 2010 time in NY! Adventures, lights, decorated trees and windows, good cheer, giving, loving and lots of snow! Good time to enjoy with family and friends and also take in the natural beauty of the season. On Christmas Day we took a walk out on the ice by a glittering pond where people were skating and playing hockey--so inspiring. Snow days are great to snuggle up, have a warm cup of hot cocoa, watch a movie, cook, and write some new music. Being together, playing our music, and listening to the music of the season on the radio and in concert is one of our greatest joys this season. Renewing our spirits and relationships, focusing on our work, our school and our home will help make a better 2011!

It's a great time of year for apple picking and a hayride! There are some peaches left also. We found some farms on line and came home yesterday with a variety of apples, peaches, and some veggies. Good time to stock up for the beginning of school and the autumn season. We visited Demarest Farms (since 1886) in Hillsdale, NJ, the 'Garden State'--wonderful farm and stand.

Been working on some new songs, and mixes for holiday songs.

9/1 SEPTEMBER BLOG 2010
It's been a very hot, beautiful, 'on-the-go' summer! Just got back from an end of the summer 'daycation' with friends at our favorite place on the beach on Long Island. We like to celebrate our anniversary and summer birthdays there. On a clear day, the sunsets on the beach are spectacular, with a brilliant collage of pinks, yellows, oranges, reds, blues and golds lingering above the crystal blue-green waves.

Change has been the theme lately, and at this point, we're looking forward to a new focus-- consistency and stability, for a change.
Thinking about and appreciating all the wonderful times and memories spent with my family and friends this coming time of year--apple picking, last minute weekend trips to the beach, country drives, harvesting, preparing for a new season of work, school and the snowy winter. I'm finding that focusing on the positive is the best and most productive way to live--they say concentrating on the many blessings everyday improves the quality of life.

Sometimes simplicity in life is a good thing--not always so easy in this complex, fast paced, ever moving world-- the simplicity of taking time to reflect and value what's most important in our lives--our loved ones and our work, and having eachother. Wishing you joyful times and many wonderful 'Kodak moments' this season.

Back to New York, our home. Having music as such a huge part of our lives, we felt right at home in Nashville, Tennesse, and Alabama as well! It was great to work on the new recordings surrounded by such beautiful inspiration. Looking forward to our next visit.

BLOG JULY 2010
We drove through the TN countryside and it is gorgeous! We stopped for blueberry picking and also took a walk through history visiting some plantations and beautiful gardens.

Just got back to Tennessee from our visit to Alabama--it was great to see our family, and also to do some fishing in the beautiful rivers and enjoy the picturesque scenery--an uplifting and inspirational experience.

We're in Nashville, Tennessee recording and having some fun. What a great place to visit! The Country Music Hall Of Fame And Museum is amazing--music, videos, Elvis's gold leaf piano, steel guitars, instruments, outrageous detailed costumes, country stars' cars, Studio B etc...

The BBQue food is delicious--love the fried green tomatoes, hickory smoked chicken, fried catfish, collards, cabbage, corn, biscuits, pulled pork...

What a sensational feeling-- being surrounded with all this music, and good people.

Went to Alabama to visit familiy today, it was a joyous meeting for us, and a beautiful drive!

7/10
It's Summertime!!! After a long year of work, school, moving and a lot of driving, it's a great time to enjoy the warm weather and celebrate the 4th of July! We're taking a quick getaway to a nearby B&B at the beach.

This warm weather makes us want to sing and write new songs. We've been singing and playing "Summertime", and birthday and celebration songs these days.

This time of year is great to grill outdoors, find new recipes and have a weekend BBQue or picnic. I found some great summmer recipes for my family like chilled peach soup, watermelon lemonade, mango-pineapple smoothie and some delicious salad ideas. You can check them out at WholeFoods.com.

Hope you are having a nice summer!

And for my son Brandon who loves fishing, I changed the lyrics from our song "Baby Let's Dance" to "Baby Let's fish" for fun. For Rosie and Max, the Liberty kids, and anyone interested, I posted the lyrics for you--Here they are:

(sings along to "Baby Let's Dance" from "Fly Butterfly" CD)

BABY LET'S FISH

Everywhere I go I think of fish
'cuz you know that it's my favorite dish
It kind of happens like boom there they are
They got me wishin' on my lucky star

So now I'm dreaming and this much is clear
Just want to catch 'em and to have them near
I like to watch them jump and swim all around
Get ready now the derby's coming to town

Chorus: So Baby let's fish
It's my favorite dish
with lurers and hooks
and some worms we'll be fine
when we feel a tug,
pull in our fishing lines

'n later we'll fry
them up in a pan
then gobble them down
just like a man
never afraid to catch our dish
'n fulfill this wish
Baby let's fish

This is our moment, yeah this is our time
Fishing is it, now I've made up my mind
The pond is the place that I want to be
With trout, bass and sunfish swimming under me
Now I'm fishing 'n I'm feeling free

So baby, let's fish
it's my favorite dish
with lurers and hooks
and some worms we'll be fine
when we feel a tug,
pull in our fishing lines

'n later we'll fry
them up in a pan
and gobble them down
just like a man
never afraid to catch our dish
'n fulfill this wish
Baby let's fish

Chorus:
So baby let's fish
it's a great dish
with lurers and hooks
and some worms we'll be fine
when we feel a tug,
pull in our fishing lines

So baby let's fish
c'mon let's roll
we'll be as one with our fishing poles
never afraid of taking a chance
to fulfill this wish
Baby let's fish!

Health tip for today: Cinnamon, as found in studies, may have a regulatory effect on blood sugar, and may lower LDL Cholesterol, among other health benefits. For natural cures, checking out the health benefits of common herbs and spices on line may be worthwhile.
Cinnamon tastes great sprinkled on fruit, yogurt, cereals, or whatever suits your taste.
Recipe: 1 sliced banana, top with 1 tbs. peanut butter and cinnamon sugar/honey.
Recipe: Blend mixed berries or fruit with yogurt, soy milk (or skim milk), honey and cinnamon. (a pinch or 1/2 tsp. per serving)

We've been moving through some transitions this winter, as life presents from time to time. Positive change is a good thing and as we continue to focus on priorities and what's most important in our lives we're moving on.
Wishing many thanks and much love to our close family and friends for all of your love, kind support, and care. We love you!

A few blocks away is a great cafe-chocolate shop called "Chocopologie Cafe". You can see the chocolates being made there. Some of the flavors are rosewater, lavendar and Grand Marnier. In February/early March we like to check out maple syrup events. Stamford Nature Center in CT has a wonderful festival for tapping maple syrup. Lately I've been singing a lot of beautiful music with the choir. Wishing you a sweet and happy Valentine's Day!

January 1, 2010
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

We went to GREAT WOLF LODGE indoor water park for New's Years Eve--it was great fun! We met a lot of wonderful people, kids and families there. The hotel dropped tons of white, blue and silver confetti, balloons, and snow, everyone was dancing, the DJ was great, and my son enjoyed the sparkling cider for the toast. A giant 'snowball' came down from the ceiling at midnight, and snowflake decorations and lights were everywhere. It's worth the visit to check out the wave pool and the 4-story slides too! Outside, there was just enough snow to enjoy, but not to get stuck in. We found an inn that has sled dogs and atv rides--looks like a great place to visit also.

We toast to 2010 being a year of new beginnings, prioritizing what's most important in our lives, keeping centered and focused, living in faith, hope and love, seeing good things in life, and helping to keep our world a brighter place.

Inspired by the joys of the season, we're writing some new holiday songs for next year!

All the best to you for 2010!!!

December 22, 20009

Wishing you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for life, my loved ones--family and good friends, and for having the opportunity to sing and play music. We look forward to recording and performing, and we're thankful to everyone who has supported our music. It is an honor and a pleasure to sing and play for you and to share the joy of music!

November 1, 2009
I'm looking forward to being back in the studio!
New songs are exciting and fun. Making music and writing is also like sports. There is a lot of individual effort, and a lot of teamwork. It is inspiring, adventurous, keeps you connected to people and friends, hopeful and moving forward. In our music I am inspired by life and spirit, love, working with artists and musicians, travel, beaches, mountains, gardens, our changing world, butterflies and nature, the upcoming music and holidays, and the people in my life.

October 31, 2009
Have a happy, fun and safe Halloween!
With all the holidays and junk food upon us, we try to remember to eat healthy foods and practice good nutrition! I love candy corn, spearmint gum drop leaves, and an occassional butterfinger or almond joy, Stuart loves chocolate and ice cream, and chocolate covered coconut, and Brandon likes to try the candy we try not to give him! Two great foods to remember to eat are broccoli and spinach--sauteed, steamed or raw. They have lots of vitamins and minerals, give you lots of energy, and are a healthy addition to every diet. For sweets I like to bake a lite, no trans fat (olive oil) pumpkin spice pie, and blueberry crisp (or you can substitute apple, or favorite fruits)--Prevention.com recipe. Roasted pumpkin seeds with a little salt also makes a great treat. This season I'll try to remember that corn is better for you than candy corn, fresh spearmint is better than gum drops, and that a good balanced diet of fruits, veggies, proteins, carbs and fats is best! Exercise for stamina and yoga for flexibility are also great.

October is coming to a close. It's been a busy month of writing, singing, and also bithday celebrations and good wishes!--we have 6 in our family in October! Many thanks to our familiy and friends for the good times this month, and also for coming to Borders to see our new CD!

We've been keeping a "News/#1 List" of "Places To Go", "Things To Do", "Fashion Colors", "Recipe/Food Ideas", "Song List", and "Health And Beauty Tips". We enjoyed doing this and it helps us keep a balance and insight on what to do in our lives. Now, we started this "Blog" journal of some of our highlights and comments. I like to refer back to the lists--(click arrow and scroll up past September to "Number One List For August 2009" through 'Number One List June 2007" to see month by month "News/#1 List... )--as we continue in our lives with new "Places To Go", "Things To Do"... and healthy life styles to discover and to share with family and friends.
May you all always find many joyful "things to do", wonderful "places to go", exciting "fashion colors" to wear, great "food/recipes ideas" and good "health and beauty tips", and may you always feel beautiful inside and out!
Best wishes--Annie and Stuart

P.S. Thanks Stuart for all of your valued input and editing!

October 24, 2009
Last night we attended "International Night" at our son's school. It was a splendid celebration of life, a love of learning, great teachers and working together. I'm grateful to be a part of it--thank you! We were also treated to beautiful sitar and bongo playing, singing, wonderful company, and an array of delicious international foods. What fun! (Plus I got to wear new Steve Madden shoes!)

We are finally getting to crepe making this a.m.
Crepe recipe:
2 eggs (or 4 egg whites)
1 1/2 c milk (or skim)
1 c grain flour
2 tbs veggie oil (or butter)

(optional: pinch salt, sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla)

Blend well, chill 1 hour, sautee in pan over medium heat-(1/4 c per crepe) 45 sec, flip over 15-30 sec this side, crepe is done!

For filling try: apples, honey and cinnamon; nutella and bananas; mushrooms and cheese; strawberry and chocolate drops; tuna and cheese; chicken beans and corn; spinach and mushrooms; or just be creative.

Have a great day!

From 'Poems and Readings' at the International Butterfly Breeders Association, Inc. website
Butterflybreeders.org:

Butterfly Wings
Author: Robin Fogle

Like a butterfly emerges
And unfolds its graceful wings,
A child grows and develops
With the love a mother brings.
I'm thankful for the times
When you encouraged me to try,
For God gave me my wings,
But, Mom, you taught me how to fly.

To mom--Thank you for everything, for being a wonderful mom
and 'best friend' to me, and for encouraging me to sing,
and to be a mom.
My Love to you Forever.

October is pumpkins, apple crisps, orange, colorful leaves, harvest soups,
birthday smiles, good friends and family, warm firesides, singing and playing. Have a fun-filled, happy October!

One of our songs, "Blue Rose Sky", reminds me of October skies, with beautiful moonrises, and colorful sunsets.
Lyrics-click 'Songs' to hear--:
BLUE ROSE SKY

"Cirle in the open sky
beyond the city lights
rises in the eventide
by the dusky riverside

rolling waves entwine
like lovers in the night
and I search my soul
to find the balance you inspire

Reflections of a silver path set my heart aglow
lead me home to you my love 'fore the wings of night unfold

I'll follow the starshine in your eyes
'neath the blue rose carpet of the skies
to be with you
I'll follow the starshine in your eyes
'neath the blue rose carpet of the skies
and find my way....

Taking care of and being with my family inspires my creativity, music and life. There is always a new challenge, new goals to be met, and lots of love to be given and received. This, combined with good friends, the people around us, nature and creation, inspires me to sing and write new songs, and also to bake and make new recipes! I'm planning some ideas for crepes--which are nutritious and easy enough to make. There are so many different kinds, like fruit, chicken, fish, mushroom-spinach, honey and apple, hazelnut and chocolate, and berries. We've got the ideas, now we just have to find the time! Throughout September, in our organic garden we harvested grapes, raspberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, parsley, coriander, regular and licorice basil, and peppermint. One time the basil took over our garden so we made pesto pasta to share with our relatives. This season the green beans are gigantic and the grapes are very sweet. Soon we'll be weeding and clipping back canes! Transitioning into autumn, yoga has helped "bring calmness, well being and vitality" (Rodney Yee) to my life. Thinking about a mini weekend escape, or day trip, is a positive focus, provides a break from working, and boosts mood to work more effectively--it's a great time to plan a foliage trip! Have a great day!

Do you believe it--September is coming to a close already! Last Friday, I had the joy of visiting Brandon's school for 'Show 'n Tell'. We brought in his Silver Persian kitty, named Rocky Rocket. It was great fun and Rocket loves the class and the kids. Last week I also started dance classes and learned some new routines to some great new songs. Learning all the new steps can be a challenge. Nonetheless, the teachers and the class are great to be with! We are putting together some performance outfits for the weeks to come. The colors and styles this season are elegant, yet strong and fun! This weekend was a quiet one and we had a 'playdate' at Rye beach followed by a Cosi dinner with friends. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

September 14, 2009
This weekend we had a long rehearsal of songs from "Fly Butterfly" and "Sweet Destiny", with Stuart at the keys. It felt great to sing with acoustic piano again! Thanks Diana--music and love are so transformational and healing--I'm most grateful to you for coming up, and for all of your musical direction and love--Sing on! Thanks Helaine for being there, and thank you Stuart for your beautiful playing, and help setting up the equipment!--Best wishes and love to you all.

September 11, 2009
Today is a solemn day. I watched the memorial service in NYC on TV, remembering what 9/11//2001 meant to me and my family. As I listened to the people telling their stories of loved ones, firefighters, rescues, memories, and to the bagpipes playing, names being called out, and to the beautiful sound of the children singing the national anthem, tears began to take over my breakfast plate. I remember talking to a member of my family through the incident, who was residing in Battery Park City at the time. I had just moved out of BPC, to Westchester County NY, weeks before. I spoke with one family member in BPC on the phone at the time, who described what was happening as 'snow and dust' falling all over and covering the windows, trees and streets to the point where nothing was visible. We were not sure what it was at the time. As I watched the TV, it became evident. By the grace of God, my family survived. My sister, also near the area, came up by train that night to be with us. My brother, a firefighter since he was 18 years old--(when I was a child, I can remember him running out of the house at any hour the town whistle blew to serve and help those in need)--drove up from Alabama to Ground Zero and helped out. Shocked and stunned, we were now part of a new world. President Obama has declared this day a National Day of Service and Remembrance. I'm grateful for Mayor Julianni who saw us through, for our current Mayor Bloomberg and President Obama, and for all of our leaders, heroes, and people for great leadership, guidance and strength. May God's blessing and prayers be with us all, especially to those who serve our country and the world, in these times of need. May love, understanding and peace prevail within ourselves and throughout our world.

"VOICES OF THE WORLD"-Lyrics--(this is one of the first songs we wrote in NYC):

Too many faces out in the cold....
..no place to hide on the edge of time, in this age of uncertainty
I look in my heart and find new hope when I hear the children sing..

Chorus: Love, love, love, it's the center of emotion,
Voices of the world, join hands across the seas
Love, love will keep this world in motion
standing stong as one, live in love...

All people of the world, woman and man,
with love we find harmony and peace in our land
Can you hear the gentle voices singing in the park
shining light for all to see..

Chorus: Love, love, love, from your center of emotion
Voices of the world, join hands across the seas
Love, love keeps this world in motion
standing strong as one, give love...

...hear the children sing... and we find hope in our land, hear the
children sing... and we find love in our land...

Reality is setting in, back to work, school, routines, changing seasons, and to Starbucks for a warm pumpkin-spice steamed skim milk after the holiday. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
We've been rehearsing and listening to the "Fly Butterfly" CD. I like to walk or dance to the CD to work out. Today I tried something new--swimming, diving and 'pool gymnastics' to "Fly Butterfly". I choreographed some flips and backdives to "I Believe" and "Celebrate". It felt like I was flying through the air and singing the same time backdiving! This week Stuart and I are rehearsing some of our songs from "Sweet Destiny" and "Fly Butterfly" with acoustic piano and we look forward to playing out together.

BLOG: REFLECTIONS OF SUMMER
Some of my favorite summer memories are of the beach and the mountains. We began our summer celebrating Stuart's birthday at the end of June, our anniversary the first week of July, and my birthday at the end of August. One of the favorite places we visited this year was the Jersey shore, with it's invigorating, whirlpool like waves, boardwalks to stroll on, people and friends to be with, fond memories and times with family, and great inspiration for writing and playing songs. We also took a trip to Lake Placid, Mirror Lake and Saratoga, NY. After driving up a long, winding road with beautiful views, we climbed to the summit of White Face mountain. The final ascent was short, rocky, and steep with trecherous drops on both sides. The trek to the top was well worth the awesome views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. What an exhilarating feeling! At the end of August we visited the Hampton's beaches on Long Island, NY, also my favorite. One sunset evening we spent blue-crabbing on the bay. During the day we took a long walk on the beach discovering many remnants of sea life. Brandon and I collected smooth, round, white, yellow, and brown stones of varying sizes and trudged them back with us. When we returned we used them for a home-made 'hot stone' message. It felt great and it's worth a try sometime. Long Island has some of the world's most beautiful beaches! Collectively, we spent most of our summer working, at camp, rehearsing, performing, and posting flyers for our new CD "FLY BUTTERFLY". Thank you to all of our friends and to the people we met this summer for many wonderful memories together! We hope you had an adventurous, productive and beautiful summertime!

September 2, 2009
Summer 'vacation' is winding down and we're back to new beginnings and a new school year! Hope you all had delightful summer adventures with many great stories to tell. September is a beautiful month with cool crisp nights and clear blue-sky days--great for apple picking and visits to the beach. It is a time of change-a good thing. I look forward to new hopes, dreams and possibilities in life. May the new season bring us many beautiful colors to see and bountiful harvests to share.

'STAR OF VISION' Lyrics (to hear click 'Songs'), Sweet Destiny CD,-we wrote during the autumn season:

High upon the mountain
there's a whispering in the pines,
crimson leaves drift to the earth
and I watch the starlit sky

I've seen the seasons come and go,
and now a change is on the wind
letting go of moments past
new dreams of love begin.

Chorus: Star of Vision in the night
shining in your diamond light
I hear your silver lullaby
beneath the endless skies.....

I look into your eyes
and see new life and truth
and I thank the Lord in heaven for
this love I find in you

Chorus: Star of Vision in the night....

.....High upon the mountain there's a whispering in my mind
saying worry not about tomorrow, live for this moment in time

Star of vision in the night, shining in your diamond light...

A&S Hecht

'FLY LIKE A BUTTERFLY' Lyrics(to hear click 'Songs'or'Albums')--"Fly Butterfly" CD-we also wrote about change and new seasons of life, like the metamorphosis of the butterfly:
Baby you know, life isn't all it seems
Hold on to faith, hold on to your dreams
oh baby we'll be what we're meant to be, our destiny
every little moment we'll make it each and every breath
yeah, we'll take it, cuz love will see us through
baby me and you, me and you so

Fly like a Butterfly, you and me
feeling so alive, light and free
yeah it's everything, it's everything, we're meant to be
so fly like a butterfly, butterfly
with me

I feel your love and your energy
and all your sweet kisses touching me
now we find the hope and the love to be all we need to be
Every little moment we'll show it now we find the love
and we'll grow it,
We can be the ones brighter than the rising sun, so

Fly like a butterfly.....

All we need is love, love is all we need
now we're learning to fly high
on the wings of love, so

Fly like a butterfly, you and me
feeling so alive, light and free yeah
it's everything, it's everything we're meant to be,
so fly like a butterfly, butterfly with me...
